Districts have access to Instructional Materials curated by the Educational Service Units. The provided resources may be free of charge or a subscription cost. Efforts to provide these high-quality educational materials is in collaboration by staff from NDE, ESUs and districts. Districts are encouraged to contact their local ESUs for more information on resources.

Nebraska OER (Open Educational Resources)

The Nebraska OER Commons Hub is a statewide collaboration between the NDE, ESUs, school districts and educators. The goal is to curate and create quality open educational resources that are aligned to Nebraska curriculum.

Then join the Nebraska OER Information group to learn more. Once you are a member of the hub, update your profile that identifies you as a Nebraska educator, request to join a working group if you want to contribute to a collection or curate items in your “My Items” folder.

Social Studies Inquiry Project

The ESUCC Social Studies Project focuses on enhancing the work being done by the Nebraska Instructional Materials Collaborative. Participants develop units of study with an emphasis on the new instructional shifts, specifically the Inquiry Design Model (IDM) and promoting best practices in Digital Age Pedagogy. These resources are freely available to all Nebraska educators as open educational resources (OER).

ESUCC Marketplace Resources

Learn360 from Infobase is an online subscription service for Nebraska preK–12 schools and is licensed by ESUs and school districts. Teachers and students can access thousands of multimedia resources on any Internet-enabled device – anytime, anywhere. Resources include high-quality full-length videos, video clips, interactives, images, audio files, articles, activities, worksheets, and more. The platform makes it a powerful tool for remote learning, flipped classrooms, blended instruction, project-based learning and 1:1 environment. 

Cost: Annual subscription fee based per student. Paid for by ESUs or districts.

The Nebraska Instructional Materials Collaborative, facilitated by the Nebraska Department of Education, provides guidance and support for developing resources, protocols, and experiences. Educational Service Units (ESUs) contribute their expertise to guide the agency’s efforts, while ESU specialists deploy these materials within a versatile framework that includes predetermined outcomes and critical elements.
